Here I disagree. I have noticed that it is not necessary for you to
register for your site specific usage to be tracked. What does happen in
some search engines is that they give you a cookie the first time you visit
any of their pages. After this all they have to do is to refer to the
cookie and they will know where on their site you have been. I doubt any
such material is stored but if anybody wanted they could keep a record of
anything you do on their site through just one cookie. A good utility for
tracking the cookies you receive is at ZDNet.
