First off I would just like to thank all those people who either sent me
their own CTR's or directed me to sites where I might find the
information I needed. All the information was greatly appreciated.

As promised, I had a fair number of people express an interest in my
findings, here they are. I must say I didn't get quite as much
inforamtion as I had hoped but what I did get did provide a base to
compare CTR's by. I have condensed eveything into a very simple and
easy to read form. If I do receive my inforamtion I will pass it along
as well.

Click-through Rates

NetMarketing - Nov 96

- average response rate is 2%
- animated ads response rates increased by 15% to 40%

Web Advertising ë97 - April 97

- overall click-through rates are in the range of 33:1 (3%) to 200:1
(0.5%)

Geocities

- 5.9% in targetted areas
- average of 1%

Radio Data Group Inc (ads placed on WSOC-FM in Charlotte)

- 2.9% to 5.1%

Yahoo.com

- 2% to 5%

Doubleclick

- 2% to 5% on general sites
- 3% to 6% on keywords

Infoseek

- average 3.5% to 4%
- keywords 5%

Infoseek (actual click-throughs received by townhall.com)

- 2.01% to 7.57%
- overall average of 3.3%

CNN/All Politics (actual click-throughs received by townhall.com)

- 0.45% to 3.78%

ENews (actual click-throughs received by townhall.com)

- 2.2%
