ONLINE-ADS>> Getting web ads *QUICK* ?

An acquaintance of mine recently found a web browser bug and posted the
info to one of his pages. Within a few short days news of the bug spread,
and he started getting heavy traffic to the page (in no small part because
of being linked to from some of the major daily news sites).

After seeing all the traffic to his site, he says:

>>next time I find a security hole, I'm going to line up web advertising first

So my question is: are there agencies out there that specialize in placing
ads on these types of pages? And by 'these types' I mean pages that are in
the news, high traffic, but short lived. Quick placement of the ads would
be very important.
