Cool concept, but will it work? Four11, the popular web directory for finding a person's phone/address/email. They have built a plug-in that drops into your email program and allows users to access their service without opening a web browser. The advertising angle is that banner ads will appear when users bring up the tool.

Some good arguments for having a "list or related links" page as a way to draw traffic. One reason missing from the story, though, is that it gives you greater negotiating power when you ask for links from other sites. It lets you say, "If you list me, I'll list you...," instead of "Please link to me..."
