If this scenario isn't asking for trouble, then I don't know what is! Isn't
spam a serious enough problem without expanding it outside of the e-mail
realm?

IMHO, if this is the direction commercialization of the internet is heading,
then we're looking at cyber-Armageddon. Might as well have salesmen knocking
on your door 10 times a day, or calling you on the phone every 10 minutes, or
accosting you on the street waving sales flyers on every block. I certainly
wouldn't put up with it without a fight, and I don't believe the majority of
the internet community would either.
