I Work for an ISP based in Toronto Canada which currently has aprox 40,000
dial up users locally. Our company moto is "Designed for the new user" We
also have a large share of the Corporate ISDN business. In addition we also
have a large web hosting business. One of the sites we host we own,
www.tucows.com. TUCOWS is an acronym for the Ultimate Collection Of Winsock
Software and is a software content site that provides
web users a wide variety of internet applications that are all free and
ready to download checked for viruses, rated, reviewed and mirrored
globally for fast downloads. The site exploded in its first 18 months and
now receives almost 30 million page views per month. Why is the site so
successful? Because it was "Designed for the new user" Our NEW USERS who
needed internet software to use our service. We now press the archive on a
cd and give it to our users as they sign up. The point is this site was
designed for the visitors who wander on to our website or anyother ISP's
web site for that matter. There are a team of software reveiwers, web
developers, network engineers, software designers...the list goes on to
provide this content. Im sure there are lots of other sites out there that
have every right to charge for there advertising, suggesting that they dont is
incorrect.
This list is great. Thanks
