Regarding http://www.planetad.com, where someone else will take orders
for you, I'd be a little wary of 2 things. First, if they take the
credit card order into THEIR merchant account, forwarding you the
proceeds, You could lose your own merchant account ( if you have one )
and they could lose theirs. This is called FACTORING, and is a strict
no-no with VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX, and the rest.
The other down-side to this is that you do not know if any of their
advertisers are competitors to you. You could be unknowingly placing
competative ads in front of your customers at your point of purchase.
You are also surrendering your customer database to anyone they want
to give it to. While it's nice to have qualified leads, or have your
ads in from of real order-placers, I'm not sure it's worth the other
risks.
