Ah, well...haven't got all the answers :) Actually, I'm looking into
this at the moment, because I have a client in the same boat. The
suggestion of creating flat files is certainly I've recommended. Off the
top of my head, Alta Vista doesn't seem to process dynamic pages. I
believe the same is true for WebCrawler. Lycos may be able to. The
others I won't know for a bit.

Best test--find a big, popular site that is dynamically generated.
Find a subpage not too many levels down. If you can find that page in
the various search engines, that will clue you in on whether they can
cope with dynamic pages. If not, you may be back to static pages.
Perhaps you can feed them out by detecting the various engine agents
and send forth a static page. That will depend on how the engines
react to redirects and such, of course--another topic I'll eventually
try to look into.
