Hello all,
I found out about The Mining Company at http://www.miningco.com/ via The
Internet Advertising Report at http://netday.iworld.com/IAR/ (It is a great
resource with new articles almost daily, but I suspect most of you know of
it already). Anyway, The Mining Company seems to be a company to watch for.
I suspect they'll have a hard time in the beginning, due to competition for
visitors and web-developers fear of brand-new networks that can destroy
their hard work through incompetence, a difficult business, or simple fraud.
I think The Mining Companies approach of creating a network of advertiser
supported niche content sites (They basically want to get a few thousand
independent web-content creators to create niche sites that they will
integrate into a super-site from what I understand) may be the wave of
future, with surfers preferring one-stop information sites over searching
and wading through dozens of no-content sites (I mean all the people who use
CNET or a similar agency for all their computer info since it has everything
and is easy to navigate).
I have no affiliation with The Mining Company, but find their business
venture fascinating and am interested in everyone's opinion on it.
