Shannon,

I offer a service that I do *not* advertise, as I take on
very few new clients, among them are Yahoo, The New York
Times, VISA, Virtual Vineyards, and Amazon.com books.

FitnessLink is excellent. When you've got a minute, take a
look at

and go click on the URLwire banner.

Press releases for Web site launches and Web site events is
an industry I am widely credited with founding, almost three
years ago. I purposely stay small, as my editor contacts
are private, and when you use their private Email addresses,
you cannot be sending them hundreds of releases all week
long (they dread it)<G>. I use the exact opposite approach:
I send them releases only for the *best* sites, and only
when the sites have *significant* news and events
specifically related to the site itself. I have editor
contacts just in the Web industry, in 10 countries.

I can tell you they really dig it, and my clients get
covered, big time.

Three things must happen for a site to get covered:

1). You must have something actually newsworthy to cover
2). You must reach the right people who could cover such news
3). You must reach them in an appropriate and acceptable way

and the wildcard would be

4). Have a relationship with the editors, where they trust you.

NetGuide Magazine did a piece where they recommended my
services,
[ December, 1996. Pg.97: "Top Web Marketing Tips" ]

as did Internet World

[ April, 1996. Pg.69: "HEADS UP - After you create your
Web site, you need to let everyone know it's there." ]

Again, I take very limited new clients.

Best wishes,

- eric
