I'm not sure there is any real standard practice.

I do know that, personally, I'm not comfortable with a banner broker
leaving me with 30% or 45%. For example Burst! Media on even their
month-to-month agreement pays web sites 50%.

For a longer term commitment web site owners receive 65% or 80% for one
year and three year exclusive contract respectively.
