Hi all,
I would like to react to all who have an enormous belief in
the banner exchange networks. I am of the opinion that this is not a
serious option if you want to reach your target audience.
The only positive thing about the banner exchange is that it is free. But
what about
the disadvantages? Do you know if you reach your target audience? Do
you have an exact idea on what sites your banner appears? Do you want
to be associated with the content of these sites? The same thing
counts for the banners that appear on your site? Do you want your
company to be associated with everything that appears on your site?
What about the imago of your company? Do you want to let the world
know that you go for the cheapest option to promote your presence?
What will visitors think about your marketing capabilities? Do you
think the whole world is interested in your company or product? Would you
mind if I paint my company logo above the entrance of your office?
If I could choose between 2000 people coming from a banner exchange
link or 20 that come via a targeted banner, I sure would take the 20
targeted ones. But I am very curious if any of you banner exchange
users can prove me wrong. The banner exchanges have a future though.
It's an excellent instrument to let the world know that your fish is
called Harry and your girlfriend Suzy. But promoting your company on
the Internet? Naaah.
