Hecklers Online, the #1 rated humor area on AOL, is in the process of testing
a unique form of "interactive couponing". CoupOn Demand is a program where
advertisers will have an opportunity to place an advertisement online, very
much like a print ad, while giving consumers the opportunity to click to
their website, or download a coupon.
What makes this program attractive to promotional managers is its'
measurability. We can measure the number of clicks on a banner, and the
number of coupons actually downloaded. And of course, the retailers measure
the number of coupons actually redeemed. We believe this program is the wave
of the future, and will soon be a strong competitor to print.
In terms of "security" issues normally associated with couponing, this
program will only be offered to single-party clients. That is, companies that
do not need a clearing house to verify redemption. Restaurant Chains, Music
Stores, Video Chains and the like fall within this category.
Finally, the MOST attractive aspect of this program is its' price... We are
looking to offer this service to clients at a cost of $5,000 to $7,500 per
month for unlimited downloads. Not bad considering we attracted 5.6 million
visits in the month of January, and we're looking to do even better in
February.
I'm interested in getting feedback from others in the promotional arena on
this program. Does anybody see any potential downsides to a program like
this? Do people agree with the notion that this program will target a
promotional message directly to an audience most likely to benefit from the
product advertised?

Q: Is it true that advertisers pay no commissions in the Adbot Network?
A: That's right. If you win an auction, what you bid is what you pay.
