I have a question that goes on a completely opposite
matter: Are there any good techniques to ensure
whether a page is actually _being_ viewed in a frameset?

The situation is that we for several reasons have
chosen to show advertisments in a frame of its own.
You can see how it's done at http://www.origo.no/
(in Norwegian).

However, a very clear disadvantage (among more) is
that measuring the number of impressions is difficult
as the user can always select to view only the html
file of the main frame. How can we then know whether
the advertiser is getting its moneys worth?

I was thinking, if you can check things like above with
JavaScript as Cliff Kurtzman suggested, is there any
way to check whether a page is actually being viewed
in a frameset? Moreover, so as to safeguard against
others framing our content, to check that it is viewed
in a frame with a certain name?

Now this would enable simply writing the HTML of the
advertisment with JavaScript if the case is that the user
has manually chosen to view our site without the
frames.

We would really appreciate any ideas!

Best regards,
J¯rgen Smith
