How about something less expensive? Why not check out the sites on
the Web that would correlate to your business? Maybe contractors,
homebuilders, remodelers, lumber yards, etc. that have web sites
would be interested in exchanging links with you, or would let you
put a banner on their site for a little bit of nothing. I know,
that's a more time-consuming process than the one-size-fits-all
scheme of advertising in one place, but I think for your business, it
would be more productive. Draft some type of form letter that says,
"I'm in the fireplace and hearth business, and I'd like to get better
exposure on the Web. Would you be interested in doing a link
exchange with me, or allow me to put a banner on your site?" and when
you check out the various sites (like homebuilders or remodelers)
drop them an e-mail from their web site. Realistically, a product
like yours is specialized for a certain market, and you need to find
out where that market is "hanging out" on the Web in order to reach
it. Any online home remodeling or homebuilding or decorating
magazines would be a good place to check.
