We buy ads both for our web development clients and well as for clients for
which we strictly do ad banner design, media research, and media buying.
We have found that it is the exception rather than the rule to receive an
agency commission. Usually only the largest sites offer it, and these are
sometimes not the best answer for our clients.

When we do receive a commission, we will apply it in full to the cost of
researching the ad buy and banner design, so often the client pays nothing
out-of-pocket for our services. In any event, we alway let the client know
which buys we suggest for them pay a commission so that they can make an
informed decision. Even if a commission paying site makes our services
look "free" to the client, we make sure that the client understands that
such buys are not always in their best interest, and so far our clients
have seemed to appreciate this fact.
