Greetings Debbie and List Members,
Definitely follow up on these inquiries. If you don't, you're missing
out on the opportunity to develop a list of qualified prospects for
your products or services. It's been written many times that it often
takes at least 5 to 7 contacts before a prospect buys.
Suggest you continue following up and maintaining contact with anyone
who writes to your general email address with a question as well as
anyone who sends a request to your autoresponder (get one if you don't
have one yet--tremendous time saver). Use a service which sends you a
copy of requests to the autoresponder.
Don't overdo it, but contact prospects with special offers, new
content at your site, etc. Have something specific to say of value to
the recipient. Keep it very short--viewable in one screen. Use a
subject line in your email message which is benefit oriented so
recipient will read the message (not "Follow Up").
We've used this approach at the InfoScavenger site successfully and
have never been flamed for it. BTW, we just send email, not post
cards.
Best,
Cathy DuPre
