To give my opinion to your direct question, it's been
my experience that "postcard" sites require one to go
from the "delivery" email to the postcard site itself,
just to see the picture. This is fine for private,
one-to-one use. I think it's counterproductive to do
this for business use (some-interest OR thanks-for-order).
The whole idea of email is to deliver your message:
clearly and quickly. If someone has ordered, send an
emailed text "thank you". If you want them to go to a
website, give them *your* URL, not a postcard site's! If
a person has expressed interest, I think it's ok to send
a quick text email (again, with *your* URL, not someone
else's), as long as you indicate how to easily unsubscribe.
I think you should never *require* someone to go to a
website to get the rest of a message; it causes frustration
and a good percentage won't go, anyway. (I read most
of my email on a train, off-line, so I *can't* pop off
to the Web then.)

Sorry, Debbie, but I just couldn't resist this part.
I am assuming that the two of you either just got married,
or are about to, and also are working together. A solid
partnership, both in personal areas and in business ventures,
requires a ton of mutual trust. I'm currently in some
sticky legal situations because I did not learn this business
lesson until it was too late, and the business issues (not
with my wife) are affecting my personal relationships (such
as with my wife and family). Put the trust and communication
first; the business (and home life) will succeed much better.
