An attempt to deal with the privacy issues facing consumers has been
launched by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (http://www.eff.org) and
CommerceNet (http://www.commerce.net) in an initiative they call eTrust
(http://www.etrust.org). They are currently looking for pilot members for
their Trustmarks project. They seem to have a pretty good handle on the
issues. Hopefully they will succeed.
