We have a unique promotional opportunity to deliver probably about 5,000
highly targeted wealthy and influential individuals to a site of our
choosing. Rather than selling those leads we may be better off to exchange
that benefit for an incentive prize. I would welcome any suggestions or
advice on this or perhaps someone on this list might themselves be
interested in this.
Let me explain the context. We have on behalf of a client launched a new
resource site for the Chemical industry at http://www.chemicalweb.com As
part of the marketing of that site we have a telesales team who will be
contacting at least 10,000 or more Presidents, Vice presidents, Marketing
Directors or Managers of chemical companies worldwide to tell them about
chemicalweb and to encourage them to have their company register for all the
free facilities. Of course the free facilities at chemicalweb are valuable
and are a great incentive for people to do just that but they also have
other priorities.
It occurred to us that we could help the success rate of our telephone
contact if we gave these people a personal benefit as well. We could put
together an incentive competition such as (but not necessarily) a weekend
for two at a top of the line hotel in Hawaii. It would be easy to make entry
for that prize draw contingent upon answering questions that require a visit
to another site which could but need not be the site of the hotel in Hawaii.
So the question is do we buy the incentive and sell the leads or do we
barter the leads for the incentive prize? Has anyone any comparable
experience? Is there anyone that specialises in brokering deals of this nature?
