Why not simply dis-allow direct access to your contest entry
site if the surfer is coming in off-site, i.e., from a link
on someone else's page directly to your entry form.
The server referrer can tell what page (URL) the surfer was
on just prior to coming to your site. When it encounters a
page request from off-site, have it call a cgi-script that
responds with a page that says "Hi there! It appears you
have tried to reach our contest entry form directly.
Welcome. Please feel free to enter our Web site HERE,
and we look forward to your entry...
You get the idea.
It would cost you a couple hundred bucks in programmers
time, but you'd get far more qualified contest entries, as
most folks who were only interested in entering your contest
will probly bail out when asked to visit via the hompage...
