This is indicative of the 'transformation' of the Internet that I think
will actually take place, instead of the complete death others have
foretold. The plain truth is that the majority of the Internet is filled
with outdated material and collections of links. To find a site with
interesting, relevant, current information, and links to comparable
sites is an achievement. I've found that most search engine listings
will give you a spike in entry page views, but for intensive, long
lasting site inspections you have to go the extra mile. Creative,
personal marketing is necessary to make an impression on relevant
people.

On a personal level, we're attempting to bring this about on our web
site through the recent addition of a bulletin board where people can
post html, links and messages,(http://www.travelersdiary.com/Diary/) and
a new compensation program we'll be instituting for content creation.
