I am now planning to move portions of my web site to a new domain
name, and in preparing for this I researched the availability of a number
of domain names related to the subject of banner advertising. I thought
participants in this list might be interested in the results.

First, I liked the domain name "BANNERS.COM" but it is currently held by a
domain-hoarding firm and listed for sale at $8,000, which is about $7,750
beyond my budget.

I also liked the domain name "bannerads.com" which is currently held and
listed for sale by another domain-hoarding firm and listed for sale at
$1,500, which is more reasonable but still outside my budget.

I discovered that two domains that seemed marginally useful were currently
available: "netbanner.com" and "banads.com" -- but ultimately I decided
that neither name would be suitable for my needs. (Go get 'em, guys!)

A number of related names are reserved but not currently enabled nor
offered for sale; others are configured as "coming soon" or "under
construction" sites. Clearly, from some of the email I have received,
there are many new companies ready to come into this business behind even
the newest companies (like Aaddzz).

I finally decided on a different strategy for naming my spinoff site, and
I will announce the new name once the spinoff site is enabled and
running. (This will affect my "Web Site Banner Advertising"
and "Web Access Counters and Trackers" pages, as well as a number
of related pages.)
