Hello,
We are interested in selling our Banner Ad Network company, AdXchange
(http://www.adxchange.com).
We started the company in September of 1996 with a lot of enthusiasm
and.... programming experience. What we lacked was any media sales
experience --actually sales experience of ANY sort. It shows in our
lack of sales and even prospecting for qualified sales.
What a buyer would be getting then is obviously NOT a proven company
with guaranteed revenues... Rather what we have is the "back-end"
tools to run a banner ad network company.
Specifically:
-Our proprietary ad server software (Really great technology... is
used on two banner ad networks right now.) Complete with very well
documented source code. Runs paid and barter ads.
-Name and web site (www.adxchange.com).. we started on a new one
(http://www.adxchange.com/newhome) but didn't finish.
-Stock of brochures (scans of brochures are at
http://www.adxchange.com/brochure)
-Existing network of web sites and *huge* waiting list of searchable
web site owners w/categories that want to join the Adxchange network
of host sites. More sign up every day. That was not the problem.
-Any existing open/potential contracts. (Worth a couple thousand
through August)
-Toll free numbers. 888-4WEBHITS, 888-4SPONSO(R)
Our proprietary Ad Server software (I *swear* we did not copy the
other 5 people who named their software "Ad Server." It was just an
easy and descriptive name) is completely solid and automated and has
been delivering both paid ads (not many) and barter ads (up to over
100,000 per day) (we've been doing a 100:65 ratio) for months. It
does not crash or burp ever.
Our biggest problem was really in our lack of sales experience. I did
try to bring in additional (real) sales/mkting people, but I did not
have the funds or contacts to pull in the quality of people we needed
even on an equity basis.
