I agree first of all with 'targeting' ads. However, what does that mean.

With my recent post about Adbot it seems the term targeting esp. with
regard to Adbot has many different meanings.

Lisa J. Feld of Adbot says:

> Randall, the true value is not only advertising on smaller sites to save
>money.
> It is the ability to buy premium, highly targeted space and reach users
>that do
> use all of their resources on the web, not just a few.

Mark Welch says: (this was sent to both myself and the list, it may not
have been approved yet)

> Again and again, I recite the mantra: targetting, targetting,
>targetting. It is
> TARGETTING that ads value: by slicing up any existing inventory and
> reselling the demographic slices, the yield from ANY web site can be
>increased,

Hmm, so does the type of site qualify as targeting or is it based on the
profile of the viewer?

Well, IMHO, site type is the most simple type of targeting, just as buying
space in the travel section of a local newspaper. However, real dollars
does come if you say target my ad to females, 25-34, with HHI of $50k or
higher.

Adbot says $3 CPM for targeting
DoubleClick says $15-$70 CPM for targeting.

The question is: "What is it worth to you to get your target group?"
