Adbot response.
Randall Farmer questioned ADBOT's policy and techniques.

I run a site that is very specialized (science fiction, fantasy) and
contracted adbot for their auction. I usually get about 20-30 CPM on my
site, and expected that Adbot would be able to help me.

They went to auction, and I got $1.92CPM. Their response was that this was
the market adjusting. Although I had the option to refuse the bids, I
decided that I would run the advertisements on some not-so-hot pages and
get it over with as fast as possible.

However, I had assumed that Adbot, as a broker would know the market, and
know who would be interested in my site. I am a specialized site with
specialized interest. That is why I get $30 CPM on my site from
advertisers. All they had to do is contact, perhaps, some publishers and
mention that my site was being auctioned, and they could have generated
more money.

Adbot's current system of 'grouping' sites -- some of them well made and
some of them a joke -- is harmful and will prevent them from making any
real money. There is no excuse for any professional to get $1.92CPM in a
auction.
