ONLINE-ADS>> Amazon.com clarification

Looks like Jason was right in his understanding that Amazon.com only
credits the first purchase during a session. Here's the text of the
Amazon.com affiliate agreement (available on their web site) -- asterisks
added by Jason for emphasis (thanks Jason, for the clarification):

>****We will not pay referral fees on books that are added to a customer's
>shopping basket directly from the Amazon.com catalog (instead of through a
>special link from your site), even if the customer previously followed a
>link from your site to our catalog****.

The sales activity report language, which bookstores see on a regular
basis, certainly gives the opposite impression.

I have recently been approached by an Amazon.com competitor specializing in
medical books < http://www.medbookstore.com > and will certainly be asking
them different questions now based on this new understanding of how the
tracking works.

Perhaps we have a new measurement buzzword: "Post Click Throughs" (events
in the aftermath of a click through). Clacks? Clucks? You heard it here
first!

This still leaves me with the same branding question the other persons
asked: What is the Amazon.com name worth when compared to
MedBookStore.com, Joe's Bookstore, or whatever?
