We've had to do our share of 'hunting and begging' to grow beyond
simply hosting our own original content up on our site. We knew
we'd have a challenge discovering additional quality content that
was at the same time also available to us to host. Content that
our targeted market would value highly enough to better assure
eager bookmarking and frequent return visits.

One strategy that has worked well for us in attracting and
helping to bring back again our small and home based business
and personal finance visitors was in developing and hosting a
searchable database of quality small business and personal finance
articles and reports acquired from other outside authors, sites
and newsletters.

Not a new idea, but one that is often under utilized as many
publishers discourage this sharing by short sightedly insisting
their site alone be the sole depository of their original content.

We kept looking and did eventually find numerous other sites
likely of interest to our target market and instead of simply
establishing reciprocal links, and leaving it at that, we went in
and saw what quality articles and reports they might have on
their site that we could host on ours with their blessing.

Fortunately, enough have seen the value of having some of their
content hosted in our searchable database for the additional
exposure it'll receive there, especially with our maintaining
intact all their links in their documents pointing right back to
their own site.

After a year of searching out quality titles, daily adding this
new content, and culling dated ones, we are now at over 1200+
titles and it is our most popular feature on site with our 1100+
unique visitors daily. Where some sites have great additional
resources represented in their list of links, we've tried to also
host in our database some of the best representative content to
be found at the other end of those links.

For us, our visitors, and our submitting web site authors, our
offering this searchable database on site has proven far more
valuable than simply, and only, presenting a long list of links.

Bottom Line: Now we've had to start reading more closely all the
posts here at ONLINE-ADS regarding advertising pricing formulas
as we've begun having advertisers approach us where six months
ago there were none to be seen!

Also, we've recently taken this to the next step so other sites
can also host that database interface, too, and even some of the
most popular individual articles and reports at their own web
sites or for use in their newsletters and e-zines.

Best Regards,
Shane Connor
