If my guess is right, based on those comments and on a quick look at
Aptex's home page, they wouldn't have to kill you at all. In fact,
they wouldn't even have to know. Science, the magazine published by
the American Association for the Advancement of Science, published an
article on p 843 of the February 10, 1995 issue called "Gauging
Similarity with n-Grams: Language Independent Categorization of Text"
by one Marc Damashek of the Department of Defense. (But the address
given indicates that Mr. Damashek is employed by a certain 3-letter
agency of that Department.)

I believe the technology is licenseable from the government for a fee.
