ONLINE ADS>> Ad Bytes Irony

The irony forced me to respond:

First, in the most recent Ad Bytes, Richard and/or Cliff editorializes
about an AT&T "put your business on the Web" ad running on TV:

>On a side note, we found the idea of advertising for
>web development services on a broadcast medium like TV
>to be a bit perplexing. Our guess would be you would receive
>little qualified response but a ton of inquires from
>people that think that $500 is too much to spend on a
>web site.

Then, in the very next section....

>NEW PRODUCTS, SERVICES, & REPORTS
>---------------------------------
>
>Just Hits!!
>Receive thousands of visitors to your web site, starting today!

Okay, exactly how well qualified will those "thousands of visitors" be? We
receive 25,000 visitors per month, but not many of them actually buy
anything. Adding thousands more non-paying customers won't help much.

Targeting advertisements at qualified individuals is a relatively simple
information processing task -- one that we've solved in our advertising
system (http://tale.com/profile/). When can I buy this kind of targeted
advertising from others?
