ONLINE-ADS>> SRDS Request for Information [Deadline June 24]

I received the following email from Ruth Harman at SRDS (it was
cc'ed to me and a number of ad-server software vendors). I thought
it may be of interest to members of this list, especially some people
whom I know have products and services "waiting in the wings."

>SRDS is the leading supplier of information concerning advertising
>opportunities in a wide variety of media. Historically, we publish
>this information in paper periodicals, but we are now expanding our
>presentation to the World Wide Web. While we present data on
>advertising opportunities, we also provide opportunities in our
>publications themselves. Consequently, we are looking for advertising
>management solutions for our web-based products.
>
>Our advertising will, to a major extent, be presented to business
>entities, which generally means through a corporate firewall to the
>user's browser. We will not always be able to know who is viewing our
>product or influence how the corporate internet infrastructure is
>configured.
>
>Please respond to this request by June 24th. We seek a web
>advertising management solution that:
>
>1) Operates in a Sun Solaris environment
>2) Will allow placement of advertising into HTML pages by associating
>with tags embedded into those pages 3) Requires no additional
>adjustment to a standard firewall configuration required beyond that
>which is required to allow the presenting of HTML pages 4) Manages
>multiples banners on one page via:
> a) total impressions delivered during a given time spread
> b) percentage of total impressions
>5) Rotates multiple banners in consecutive order, one after another --
>not one ad being served multiple times before moving to the next ad
>targeted to that page 6) Allows SRDS to specify the order in which
>multiple ads targeted to one page should be rotated 7) Allows
>targeting of multiple banners to one page with each individual banner
>targeted to a separate tag 8) Will allow integration into Java
>applets/applications (API calls to the ad management product are
>acceptable support)
>
>Desired, but not an absolute requirement is that the product
>differentiates between presentation, impression, and click-through of
>each ad.
>
>Please include in your response your pricing arrangements as well as
>any other contract-oriented information.
>
>Please respond to:
>
>Dick Hildreth
>Director of Systems Development
>dhild_at_srds.com
>
>
>Thank you,
>
