ONLINE-ADS>> slow down from cookies

I am a little shy when it comes to group interaction, so I'll be brief.
I used AdBot (auction company) to sell ad space on my site (as I am
incapable of sales being a P.I. turned Web publisher), and I was
wondering if any of you have experienced a slow down from banner ads
that give "cookies". That is the only thing I can think that is slowing
my pages waaaay down. My imagination? Thank you for any thoughts.
