Looks like Microsoft are moving to a pay per download model for banners
advertising IE 4. Does this mean that sites will only want to take the
banners when a new version of a product is launched? Or put them up
speculatively where they have unsold inventory?

Does this mean that everyone will take their "This site runs best on IE"
buttons down and will run banners instead? If you don't get to run the ad,
don't put their button up - it would be like snatching the bread from a
fellow webmaster's mouth.

The article is on Ad Age:

I'm sure glad I don't run a tech site. And how long til all those neat ads
for Office 97 are placed on a per-order-from-the-online-store model?
