And boy, did I get them! Let me first just say that I don't hate
advertising professionals. (Hey, some of my best friends are advertising
professionals ;->). I took the extreme position because I knew it would get
some debate going.

What I see came out of that debate is that Internet marketing is a rather
eclectic mix of skills. You got your PR, you got your advertising, you got
your direct mail, and you got your computer expertise all wrapped up in one
package.

It confirms a hypothesis of mine that explains why so many traditional PR
and advertising firms (even the big ones) haven't really steamrolled over
the smaller shops yet. It is just not all that easy to find the above
skills in one place.

This is why you have you major players like Omnicom and True North
Communications buying pieces of interactive agencies rather than building
their own capabilities.

PS...If anybody is out there from Omnicom or True North, I think I can get
Cliff to cut you a very good deal on Tenagra...
