Yes, if that's what you want to call it.
What did you call it when Amazon.com rolled
out their Associates Program? I called it
brilliant. It's not advertising-- it's sales!

No - don't take Microsoft's ads, but become
a partner. Take on the creative mantel and
try to help them download more copies of
their software. Why? You make a commission!

I repeat - selling space on your Web site
makes sense. Selling click-throughs is, well,
absolutely the most ridiculous thing I've ever
heard in my life. (Thank you, Jeffrey.) Selling
products is called "retail" and is a fine old
mercantile tradition. Don't want to be in the
retail business? Fine; sell space to somebody
else.
