Hello,
I thought you might be interested in the fact, that the Commonwealth
Network http://commonwealth.riddler.com/ has been selling under 4% of
their affiliates page views for the month of March, according to their
Affiliate Information Center.
That's 96% unsold or 72,000,000 unpaid ad impressions, according to
their self proclaimed 75 million ad views a day. Most of these unpaid
ads are "house" ads (which are for Riddler http://www.riddler.com/ a
division of Interactive Imaginations, the parent company of the
Commonwealth Network) and some are "barter" ads (I don't have any clue
what they're bartering for).
Now this means that Riddler is receiving approximately 70 million free
banner views (they aren't in fact free they cost a total of $10,000 a
cpm of $.00014). Assuming a 2% CTR (Glenn Kurtzroc an employee of the
Commonwealth Network has told me that the Riddler banners have a high
CTR, but refused to be more specific) Riddler will receive 1,400,000
free vistors this month. Now according to PC-Meter the average Riddler
user spends 55.60 hours a month on riddler
http://adsales.riddler.com/riddler/pc_meter/page_3.htm If we assume they
see one ad per hour (notice that all ads are sold) that means because of
the unsellable Commonwealth Network ads, Riddler will display 77,840,000
full page ads.
Riddler seems to charge a minimum of $.15 cents per full page ad which
means they'll generate $11,676,000 on there $10,000 investment in one
month!
Awhile ago I asked Interactive Imaginations for information on
purchasing banners on the _Commonwealth Network_ and received a
beautiful brochure; which not once mentioned Commonwealth.
Aside from the lack of ad sales Interactive Imaginations has
repeatedly neglected it's own promise to pay within 30 days of the end
of each month; with payment arriving as many as 45 days after the 30 day
limit.
The Affiliate Information Center reported rather high selling numbers
for December and a few days before payment was due the Affiliate
Information Center shut down and checks weren't sent out. Approximately
35 days late affiliates began receiving checks, in the amount of 30-40%
of the expected payments.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at doctor_at_emi.com and
I thank you for your time.
