I recently had the opportunity to pick up and read a copy of a relatively
new book published by Hayden Books, and it was so good that I thought it
worth while bringing up here. I have no affiliation with the publishing
company or the authors whatsoever, I just thought it was worth sharing.

Web & New Media Pricing Guide
by JP Frenza and Michelle Szabo
Copyright 1996

I know, I know, there's a glut of books about the Internet on the
shelves
of book stores right now, so who wants to hear about another one, right?
Well this book really stood out, because it addresses issues that are
critical to the professional Web Developer, yet have nothing to do with
HTML, Java, or CGI. The title of the book doesn't do it justice, because
it really covers a much more comprehensive range of topics than just pure
pricing. Web & New Media Pricing Guide is practically a Bible to the
start-up Web Development Agency, and an educational reference that should
not be overlooked to even the most experienced Ad Agencies.
The book is divided into two sections. The first section creates a
wonderful guideline for all of the details in running a Web Development
Agency successfully. From business basics and legal landmines to developing
successful proposals, pricing them, and building a budget, JP Frenza and
Michelle Szabo do a wonderful job of helping you to put things in
perspective. The second portion of the book focuses on Case Studies of the
proposal and development of CD ROMs and Interactive Entertainment as well
as Small, Medium, and Large Web Sites. Both sections are objective and
written in a professional and educational manner. Put it high on your list
of MUST READS.
