ONLINE-ADS>> Commonwealth Network Posts List of Affiliates

Now that the Commonwealth Network is no longer represented by SoftBank, it has
posted a list of some of its affiliate sites, organized by category, at a
series of web pages indexed at
http://adsales.riddler.com/common/cwn_index/index.htm
This is certainly surprising behavior from a company that has been quite
secretive in the recent past, especially in light of the rapid escalation
of anger by its affiliates due to the company's late payment and its recent
slashing
of posted advertising sale rates.
Since CN claims to have 8,000 affiliates, the list is obviously a subset of
some kind, perhaps based on site traffic or quality. (Perhaps it is a list that
CN is posting to show its potential advertisers examples of sites in each
category,
or sites included in limited-pool category buys.)
For convenience, I have consolidated the dozens of small lists on the
Commonwealth site into a single (350K) web page which I have posted
at my web site: http://www.ca-probate.com/cn_index.htm
(Note that I know that several sites mentioned in the list have already
dropped their affiliation with the Commonwealth, so the list is clearly
not current as of today -- it appears that the list was posted or
updated on March 4, 1997 (as reflected in Alta Vista, which is how I
found the list in the first place).
