NONE: Advertising on the Web
Advertising on the Web

We publish a newsletter, and a website, and solicit ads for
the newsletter, but unlike the non-profit organization requesting
information, we do not have a hard copy newsletter.
My advice would be to first contact current hard copy advertisers,
and perhaps offer them a "package" deal. That would at least establish
some credibility for the e-mailed newsletter as an advertising
vehicle. Then I would contact virtually any organization, or
affinity group, and solicit their sponsorship.
Tracking the viewers is easy - how many pieces were mailed, less
those that bounced, assuming that the sponsor's ad is near the top
of the e-mail. What to charge is difficult, and in my opinion
depends upon how targeted the list is, and how closely it fits
the demographics the sponsor needs. If the correlation is low,
perhaps $.02/name, but if there is a good fit $.05/name is
not unreasonable.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
