My company is putting on a live Webcast of a community Festival this fall.
We anticipate about 6 hours worth of broadcast time with a variety of
programming, much of it to do with tourism. My problem is securing
sponsors. I simply don't know what to charge for advertising rates. We
expect a great deal of media coverage due to the nature of the event (sorry
for the secrecy. It hasn't been released yet) We plan for 12 minutes per
hour of video commercials (much like TV) plus banner ads. What are other
Webcasts charging for ad time? Is there a range I can work with?
The Web site is not ready yet but will be about 2 months before the event
and will run year long. After the live event, the video will be available
in the archives in small segments. So any advertising will get year long
exposure.
But this is a new Web site without any traffic history. How can I set rates
without knowing what the traffic will be like?
I would appreciate your advice. Many thanks.
