I must disagree with you on this point, Cliff. While you are no longer
gathering this data on *every* subscriber, by your earlier statement,
it seems that you are still capturing demographics on a statistical
sample (3%) of them from your "Contact Us" page. While purists may
argue that the sample isn't purely random, those homepage-only visitors
would probably not have filled out the entire survey, anyway.

We've been finding that some people use our FreeForm approach
in conjunction with the Pegasus mailing program for a totally free way
of converting website visitors to mailing list/newsletter subscribers.
All you have to do is write the newsletter! :-)
