Ryan,

I was careful to word what I was saying because I didn't want to imply that
either you or Jeff were spamming. I totally agree that third party email
lists, handled responsibly, are both viable and proper. But credibility on
the Web is a hard thing to determine, and seeing reference to one of the
"evil empires" of the Internet made me a little suspicious. Spam lists are
only one of savvy.com's unsavory sidelines, they also run something called
the Internet Banner Network, generally considered to be a scam. If you want
to give these people business, that's your decision. But you have to accept
that some of their very negative reputation is going to come along with it.

I strongly urge you to cease doing business with these people. There must
be more reputable sources. You can't very well complain about getting
spammed at the same time you're doing business with one of the lowest of
the low.
