What a terrific idea and one that could be a huge time-saver for buyers too.

Hopefully this would encourage more up-to-date, consistent, and complete
listings. (Anything that makes the process more efficient has got to be
good for the industry.)

Within this type of format, my $.02 is I'd like to see a solid standard
adopted for site category descriptions. This is key targeting information
for buyers and right now there's a lack of consistency.

Also *if* an additional audience and/or editorial description field is
included, I think the instructions guiding the publisher should be very clear.

For example, I was looking at a particular site's listing at one of the
online registries recently. To me this site should clearly be categorized
as a "Business-to-Business" site - it is directed to a specific industry.
It's sub-category might be "Advertising" or "Internet Advertising".

An additional field for audience description or editiorial profile might had
read something like: "Edited for sellers and buyers of WWW advertising and
others related...." But instead, the initial audience desciption for this
site was "General Audience".

IMO not very good in describing the site's focus and not helpful to buyers.
Think Mark's idea could be implemented in a manner that eliminates a lot of
this type of confusion/inconsistency.
