I'd laugh but it hurts.

That's a legitimate concern. Personally though, I see no other way
around it. Unsolicited mail will be legislated. I'm personally
getting probably 20 messages per day, totally unsolicited.
Responding makes it *worse*. Now today I get some angry person
sending me mail about a spam they received that did NOT COME FROM US.

But the bozo who sent this spam copied part of our header.

It basically said

------------
THIS IS NO SPAM. WE"VE SENT THIS MAIL TO EVERYONE IN THE WORLD..
blah blah, BUT YOU"LL GET IT ONLY ONE TIME SO UNSUBSCRIBING IS
USELESS, etc.
------------

Clearly this WAS a spam. The entire header, except for the part
that said it was not a spam, explained that it was. The problem
here is this criminal has copied part of our header (the THIS IS NO
SPAM part) making us seem some how guilty by association.

I do not believe in restricting people's freedoms. However the
brazen harrassment, the complete disregard for both business ethics
and common sense will force the government to put serious
restrictions on spammers activities. Spamford may wish to fight for
his 'right to spam', however his obnoxious f***-the-world attitude
will not help him legitimize his activities. No one but the other
slobbering bottom feeders will side with such a Jaba-The-Hutt
character.
