I learned my lesson well as I am sure that many others have. I used
to advertise through people and companies that said that they had
targeted lists only to find out they are not so targeted. I am really glad
that I have found this listserve to get advice and gain knowledge from.
However, I just recently re-read Title 47 and it states that there has to be a
paper copy on one end of the transmission or the other. So the way it is
presently written email address to email address is OK by federal law. If
they send it to your fax machine you have a case. However, I also agree
with everyone else here, that if enough complaints go to the right
people, spammers will be legislated right out of existance.
What would you guys do with someone who specifically requests more
information on your product or service then, when you send it, he
complains that he has been spammed by you?? I have had only three do this
so far but it does get irritating, probably on both ends.
Thanks!!
