I believe that Pat has a valid point. The irritation to the viewer can
have detramental results to the advertiser. There are many animated banner
ads that are "cute" but also quite annoying. It is a way of grabbing more
real-estate than your alloted 460x60 or what-ever size. Envading is also the
feeling I get when my little LOAD light doesn't go out when the page is
finished loading. I wait for this and find that to stop the irritation,
I have to "beat-up" on my "stop" button. This distracts me from my train
of thought, and why I wanted to view the page to begin with. This makes
me upset at BOTH the Site as well as the advertiser. Do we need to create
more "bad-vibes" by adding "push" and "pull" too? I really think not!
"Cute" is for "surfers" not businesses.
