I have to agree with Eric. I see very little difference between
"Auto-Submitters" and spamming. Think about it. The users are
more interested in quantity, than quality. How do they know that
the 200-300 sites are even orientated to their product or service?
How do the Spammers know if the e-mail address is an interested party?
They only play the numbers game, little else.
I run a nice database and used to allow instant submission eceptions.
Problem is, I was getting a lot of "sex-Page" sumbissions. I have well
stated on both the Index and Submission pages that this is not allowed.
I still get them, 50 to a hundred a day! The sumbission engines now
go thru a screening process. What a pain, and almost all fo them are
get-rich-quick or sex-pages. I have no problem with these vendors
selling what ever they want, but when I am looking for a business, I
dont want to wade thru 990 MLM programs to find the 10 businesses that
I may be seeking.
I also am in the process of separating the MLM programs.
Most of my "auto-Submissions are in either "Business" or mis-directed.
The submission process needs to be taylored better. I copy all of Erics
comments here because I feel it is worth repeating. Every point he
makes is worth serious consideration. I only wanted to add this "feeling" of
getting "spammed!"
I built a "Made 'n USA" Database, and was overwhelmed by submissions
that had nothing to do with the purpose. Excuse me, but a Sex-Chat
line with an international calling code is not appropriate. So I spun
off a "Friends" database, and the submission engines found it. I get
hundreds of submissions to the "friends" database, and only a few to
the Made in USA database. These few are good, for it reasures the
appropriateness to both buyer and seller. "Thats the name of this
game!"
