Hi ..
To follow-up the thread about "newsletter and e-mail handling"
where John Audette offered his recommendation of GroupMaster
from Revnet Systems as an excellent resource -- but then
ended his comments indicating Revnet and MMG were mutual
clients of each other and therefore his endorsement might
not be completely unbiased. I'd like to throw in my 2
cents and also endorse Revnet's GroupMaster program--
and I don't think I'm being biased when I offer the endorsement.
duJour.com has struggled to come up with a good e-mail
solution for our site for some time. We had considered
developing our own mail system, but frankly have not had
the time to focus on this as a development item. We have
gone through "fits and starts" in the past year with a
variety of commercial programs on the market. Some ISPs have
not wanted to host a majordomo type arrangement, as they
have not wanted to deal with the "hand-holding" to
effectively handle a program. Other ISPs have offered
such programs, but their idea of technical support for
the program gave "no frills" a new meaning, as they issued
a cryptic list of commands and expected that to be all
that was necessary. Other varieties of e-mail /list programs
left security issues unaddressed. On and on, there have been
problems with any e-mail solution we have looked until
we found Revnet, which addressed the issues we had found
lacking in other products.
We have started working with the GroupMaster product.
Its a real joy to work with, as is the company. We intend
to also utilize the Revnet program for client "E-web" projects.
