Here's the ultimate intrusive on-line advertising medium -- the
telephone.

The London Independent reports this week that a Swedish company called
Gratistelefone (Free telephone), offers subscribers free telephone
calls (up to 30 mins) as long as they're prepared to be interrupted
by 10 second ads every three minutes (you get a short warning bleep before
the ad starts). They've signed up 20 000 users (half of whom are
unemployed) and have a waiting list of similar proportions.

So how about free Internet access as long as you're willing to have
ads pushed thru your browser every three minutes?
