AOL just released figures for their last quarter.

In the previous quarter, they'd reported $80 million in advertising
revenue; this quarter it *fell* to $68 million...

This may just be an accounting anomaly, but some people have expressed
concern that large "sites" will gobble up most of the advertising dollars.
If nothing else, they'll have to re-visit their calculations...

Investors want to see AOL get more money from ads and less money from
subscription fees -- so the pressure's on. Wired News reported AOL was
even selling ads at $5 per thousand in March
